“Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”

San Francisco de Asis

Costa Rica is not just a perfect vacation destination; it is also a great place to call home. This remarkable Central American country offers many investment opportunities. Several factors, such as the government's commitment to preserve the nation's natural resources and the implementation of various policies and systems, have made Costa Rica an ideal place for tourists, expatriates, residents, and investors.

Bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, the country is home to some of the most beautiful beaches around. Costa Rica has more than 300 beaches that dot its coastline, 56 of which have received an award from the Ecological Blue Flag program.

The country is also rich in tropical forests, with a great diversity of flora and fauna that would amaze any nature lover. Despite only occupying about 0.01% of the world's total land mass, the country is home to 5% of the world's biodiversity.

The local government has devoted much of its energy and resources in its effort to preserve natural resources. About 35% of the country has been designated as protected, both by federal and private institutions.

Foreigners get the same property rights as locals. That means you can own a piece of land or a house and have all the rights to use, control, or transfer the property at will. Prices vary by location, but property taxes are considerably lower than in other countries.

While no country is entirely crime-free, Costa Rica is a relatively safe and stable place, so much so that it abolished its army in 1949. Funds were then diverted to improve education and health care.
With a literacy rate of 96%, Costa Rica is among the highest in the world.
